Moments that Matter
We believe that community is built through connection—and connection is built through shared moments. That’s why we intentionally create opportunities throughout the year for families to come together, celebrate, and feel part of the heartbeat of our school.
These moments matter. They help students feel supported, build lifelong memories, and create strong, trusting partnerships between school and home. Whether it’s a quiet chat over coffee or a vibrant school-wide event, every opportunity to connect strengthens the fabric of our Bethany family.
Here are some of the many ways we bring our community together across the year:
Connection Morning
Held at the beginning of the year, this is a time to come together as a whole school community, meet new families, catch up with familiar faces, and hear what’s ahead. With a welcome BBQ and fun activities, it’s the perfect way to start the year with warmth and joy.
Enlighten Night
Shortly after school returns, families are invited to meet their child’s teacher and learn more about the classroom routines, curriculum, and opportunities for the year. This evening helps lay the foundation for a strong partnership between home and school.
Learning Conferences
Held twice a year, our Learning Conferences provide a space for meaningful conversations between students, parents, and teachers. These meetings focus on student goals, progress, and how we can work together to support growth.
Exhibition Evenings
Our most popular event of the year, our Exhibition Evenings are a vibrant celebration of learning. Families explore student-designed PBL (Project-Based Learning) products and hear the story of each child’s learning journey. With student presentations, creative displays, and food trucks, it’s a joyful night of pride and celebration.
Celebrate!
At the end of each school year, Celebrate! brings our community together to recognise the growth, effort, and achievements of every student. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the year we’ve shared.
Carols Evening
A festive and heartwarming tradition, our Carols Evening gathers the Bethany community for a joyful celebration of Christmas. With beautiful performances, carols, and time to connect, it’s a highlight of the end-of-year calendar.
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Events
We honour the special people in our students’ lives with activities and stalls that invite families into classrooms to share quality time and create memories.
Annual Community Event
Each year, we host a major event that brings everyone together in a spirit of fun and celebration—such as a bush dance, movie night, or trivia evening. These events create wonderful memories for students and families alike.
Sports Carnival, Cross Country, and Swimming Carnival
These much-loved community events invite families to cheer, encourage, and be part of the energy and excitement of our students striving for their personal best.
Grace Space Café
Open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and after Worship each week, Grace Space Café is a relaxed, welcoming space where parents can gather, chat, and enjoy a coffee together. Once a month, we also offer a free morning tea after worship.
Worship and Assembly
Families are warmly invited to attend weekly worship and assemblies—moments of reflection, celebration, and connection that centre our community in faith and purpose.
Friends of Bethany
Our parent volunteer group plays a key role in bringing many of these moments to life. Whether it’s organising an event, running a stall, or helping behind the scenes, Friends of Bethany is a wonderful way to be involved and meet others in the school community.
At Bethany, community isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we live. These moments that matter are part of what makes Bethany feel like family. They remind us that school is not just about learning—it’s about belonging, celebration, and doing life together.
We’d love to see you at our next event.
