POSITION TITLE : ACCOUNTANT 

The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the collection and allocation of School income and expenditure is effected in an efficient and accurate manner. The accountant is an integral member of the Bethany Lutheran Primary School (BLPS) Finance Team.

This position is a part-time position (24 hours per week) for the full year, with applicable leave entitlements.  (It is not a term-time position).

  2. Experience working in an educational institution
  3. Accounting experience and/or Associate Diploma/Diploma level or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position
  4. High level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, other staff, and the wider school community
  5. A thorough understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  6. A high level of proficiency in Information Technology
  7. A current Working with Children Suitability Card

Physical Education Teacher

Part Time (0.6 FTE - 3 days/week) 

Permanent position, beginning 2022

Position Details

Bethany Lutheran Primary School is a double-stream (P-6) co-educational Lutheran School, catering for approximately 320 students. 

We are seeking a vibrant, energetic, and enthusiastic PE teacher to join our collaborative and dedicated staff.

Selection Criteria

1. A desire to support the Christian ethos of the school.

2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current teaching and learning approaches within the Australian Curriculum, specifically HPE.

3. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement engaging learning experiences and programs, including differentiation for students with additional needs.

4. Understanding of how students from Prep – Year 6 learn, and to develop effective teaching strategies and the capacity to monitor and assess student learning needs to inform teaching practice.

5. High level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with children, parents, colleagues, other staff, and the wider school community. 

6. Demonstrated ability to organise and deliver events such as Interschool Sport as well as annual events such Athletics Carnival, Swimming Carnival etc. 

• Additional coaching of sporting teams before and/or after school will also be required. 

• Coaching qualifications and experiences across several sports would be advantageous. 

In addition to the requirements of being a member of our teaching staff, the Physical Education Specialist is required to execute the following responsibilities, or demonstrate the required characteristics to:

• Cultivate a love of exercise and physical activity, whilst encouraging students, staff, and families to understand the importance of developing physical and mental health.

• Demonstrate and guide student capacity for excellent sportsmanship, as well as age and situation appropriate competitive aspirations.

• Demonstrate clear and effective communication with staff, parents, and local community sporting groups.

• Collaborate with School Leadership and the whole school community

• Develop a fair and inclusive ‘game sense’ into activities undertaken during lessons, that allow students of all abilities, opportunities to experience success, but also foster resilience and determination.

• Demonstrate the ability to cater for students with disabilities in physical activities.

Qualifications Required

Relevant 4-year (or postgraduate equivalent) tertiary qualification, including a specialisation area of health and physical education or human movement.
