Term One Chapel Offerings – YWAM Medical Ship

In Term 1, we will be raising money that will help to sponsor the Swan Family as they embark on a mission trip to Papua New Guinea on the YWAM Medical Ship.

The YWAM Medical Ship has been operating in Papua New Guinea since 2010, bringing volunteer teams to remote areas to provide health care and education. YWAM (Youth With a Mission) is a Christian mission organisation. The ship is part of the Townsville YWAM Base.

Teams include:

• Primary Health Care – general medical care, vaccinations, antenatal care, contraception, TB screening, health education
• Dental Clinic
• On board Optometry – eye checks and provision of glasses
• Ophthalmology – cataract and pterygium surgery
• Community Engagement Team – visiting schools and community groups to teach on health topics and give out toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, mosquito nets, sharing the gospel
