This week in our chapel service, we installed those students who have been chosen by their peers to serve as school leaders within our school community during 2012. Congratulations to Matilda Kirton, Lincoln List, Jessica Agius, Joshua Davey, Matthew Mead, Tiahna Stevens, James Wright, Maddison Terrazas, Jordan List and Elly Keding who were elected to serve on the Student Council.

What makes a good leader?

  • Lead
  • Encourage
  • Assist
  • Dependable
  • Enthusiastic
  • Respect
  • Serve

All of these qualities as well as many other talents help build up the school community. As part of the installation rite, the newly elected leaders heard an encouraging word from the bible: Each one of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very word of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 4:10-11).

May God bless each member of the Student Council as they seek to serve the wider school community throughout 2012.
