Dear Heavenly Father, this week we pray for all those within our school community who are ill. We especially pray for Mrs. Fong’s son, Sam, who has been in hospital this week having suffered an asthma attack. We pray that Sam will grow strong and soon be well again. We pray for all the children and parents who are suffering from colds and flu as the cold weather of winter impacts on us. We pray for the many people who have had stomach upsets and viruses and ask that you restore their strength too. We pray for Mitchell as he continues to manage his diabetes and thank you for giving him the amazing courage that he has to deal with this condition every day. We pray for Joshua Lehmann as he continues to wait for his leg to heal and for Miss Podlich who hurt her ankle playing netball and continues to limp and experience pain.
Lord, when sickness comes we are brought to the realization of how magnificent it is to be fully healthy and to be able to do everything that we want to achieve. Our health is such a great blessing and one we take for granted until it is gone. Lord, help us to value our health and support our well being through what we eat and drink. Help us always be mindful of how we care for others, always ensuring we do nothing which may hurt them. Accidents can happen very quickly and easily. Even pushing or shoving someone can have ongoing and painful consequences. Help us to teach our children the importance of solving problems without resorting to fighting and violent acts.
As we come to the student vacation, we pray for your protection over our community and that all may return safe, healthy and refreshed from their holiday. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
